Increasing Creatine Kinase Concentrations at the 161-km Western States Endurance Run
Rhabdomyolysis (muscle breakdown) and hyponatremia (low blood sodium) are two serious conditions that can occur during prolonged physical activity. The purpose of this paper was to examine the incidence and possible link between these two conditions during a 100 mile trail run.
