Polystyrene Nanoparticles Alter the Structure and Stability of Model Cell Membranes

David R. Van Doren, Gettysburg College

Description

Nanoparticles have been used in the development of countless products available today. Despite the amount of attention and research they have received, their interactions with biological systems are still poorly understood. This project aims to determine nanoparticle properties that are important for their interactions with lipid membranes and their contribution to a nanoparticle's mechanism of interaction with lipid molecules.
