Description

Oil on Wood

From the Artist: In the age of selfies, self portraiture is increasingly complicated. We want to present an attractive version of ourselves, with the best angles, lighting, and colors for our face. I made this painting as an attempt to depict myself as I looked on a tired summer afternoon, with no makeup on, with no desire to look beautiful for anyone. This is an attempt at honesty, self-conscious and intentional as it may be.
