Abstract
Professors Christian Keller, Jennifer Murray, and Ian Isherwood spoke about military lessons learned from the U.S. Civil War. Professors Keller and Murray both spoke about how the events of the Civil War shaped the future of U.S. military tactics and policy. Professor Isherwood spoke about the similarities between the Civil War and World War I, including how the development of certain World War I military theories have their roots in Civil War-era tactics. Following their remarks, they responded to questions from the audience.
