Description
The Faculty Council, with the support of the Faculty Personnel Committee, recommends the replacement of the word “teaching” with the phrase “faculty status” in the sentence below (which can be found on page 13 of the Faculty Handbook):
Prior to the awarding of tenure, a faculty member must have completed a minimum of six years of full-time teaching at the college or university level.
The new phrase would read: Prior to the awarding of tenure, a faculty member must have a minimum of six years of full-time faculty status at the college or university level.
