MS-036: Radical Pamphlets, 1965 – 1975

This collection is divided into two sections. Radical Pamphlets, consists of pamphlets on broad topics such as labor, communism, ecology, poverty, racism and women’s rights. The second series is the Peace Movement and consists of pamphlets, papers, newspaper clippings and correspondence dealing with the Vietnam Conflict and Peace Movement in the United States compiled by David Mozes, a friend of Scott, Nancy and Jim Scott, and Michael J. Hobor, Class of 1969.

MS-044: Stephen H. Warner Collection

In addition to hundreds of photographs and negatives, the collection contains letters, manuscript notebooks and notepads, drafts of articles, and copies of feature stories printed in army publications written by Warner during his time in Southeast Asia. Other supporting materials in the collection include army publications on a variety of topics, including travel guides and cultural studies.

MS-051: The Letters of Richard A. Moore to his Wife during the Vietnam War

This collection consists of letters, news reports, correspondence, and photographs arranged in two series: I. Correspondence from Richard to Claire Moore and II. Miscellaneous News Reports, Correspondence, and Photographs collected by Richard Moore during his service in Vietnam.

The collection has been arranged chronologically; correspondence starts in September 1969 and continues until July 4, 1971. Two letters might be particularly interesting for researchers studying Stephen H. Warner, Gettysburg College Class of 1968: a February 15, 1971 letter that mentions Warner’s death and the relationship between Warner and Richard Moore and a June 27, 1971 letter that discusses Warner’s relationship with Gettysburg College. Most of the correspondences are typed letters signed.

MS-054: Papers of David Hedrick on the Stephen H. Warner Exhibit

Researchers will discover this collection to be complementary to, yet distinct from the Stephen H. Warner Southeast Asia Photograph Collection. For instance, one will find correspondence between Warner’s mother and Curator David Hedrick; however, the letters focus on the memory of Steve portrayed in the exhibit, “Stephen H. Warner 1946- 1971: Words and Pictures from the Vietnam War.” In addition to correspondence, one will discover rich sources that discuss the layout, proposals, and efficacy of the Stephen Warner Exhibit. Numerous photographs and the actual exhibit materials provide the researcher with excellent imagery and allow him or her to better understand Warner’s experiences in Vietnam.

MS-057: The Papers of Donna O. Schaper, Class of 1969: The Gettysburg Years

This collection consists of correspondence and college papers from Donna Osterhoudt Schaper, who graduated from Gettysburg College in 1969. As a student, she was part of the student protest movement against the Vietnam War, and she interned for the College Chapel before attending the Lutheran Theological Seminary.

MS-221: Cpt. Robert L. Morris ’66 Papers

The collection includes photographs, newspaper clippings, and other documents related to the life of Robert L. Morris ’66. Series 1 includes a scrapbook containing newspaper clippings and photographs from throughout Morris’s life, beginning with his childhood. Series 2 includes items from his life before joining the U.S. Air Force, specifically items related to his time as a student at Gettysburg College. Series 3 features photographs, awards, and other documents from his service in the U.S. Air Force through his death in 1972. Potential research interests lie in Gettysburg College’s Vietnam War connections, the personal history of Cpt. Robert L. Morris, and photographs from the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
