Hakoah Vienna and the International Nature of Interwar Austrian Sports

Abstract

This article explores the participation of Austrian, Jewish athletes in international competitions in the years between the world wars. In particular, it develops the history of Hakoah Vienna, the largest and most important Jewish sports club in interwar Europe, within the context of the Olympic Games, the Maccabiah games, and other international competitions and events.
