This diptych painting was created referencing a photograph of my sister and I on the beach as children and a Nineteenth Century Pennsylvania Trade Card from the Gettysburg College Archive of a hand holding my mother’s favorite flower. On the hand, I placed my Mother’s favorite ring—a gift from her mother. It symbolizes the influence and love of family, it’s ability to merge generations, and to shape the future.
