MS-066: The Papers of George Saylor Warthen

This collection is the typed manuscript “A Study of the Rollaid” as well as the handwritten notes by Warthen. The manuscript is broken into four chapters and appendix, and the personal notes were most likely from his writing process. -
MS-067: Robert Bell Bradley Papers

This collection is composed of Robert Bell Bradley’s memoirs of his experiences as a medic during combat in France during WWII and his subsequent capture and five months’ imprisonment east of Berlin in a prisoner-of-war facility. -
MS-068: Henry P. Clare Letters, Co. D., 9th New York State Militia

A collection of 47 letters, mostly from Clare to his brother, written between January and December 1863. The letters chronicle life in the camp and give Clare's sharply critical opinion of the war and of the army's and nation's leadership. -
MS-069: Papers of John W. Vannorsdall

The Papers of John W. Vannorsdall consist correspondence and issues proposals from the late 1960’s and early 1970’s from the Office of the Chaplain at Gettysburg College. -
MS-070: Papers of Philip M. Biklé and Family

This collection consists of mostly personal correspondence between Biklé and Emma, and the correspondence of Emma and their children. Also included are class notes from Biklé’s years as a student, and account books from the Lutheran Quarterly and Pennsylvania College Monthly. -

This collection primarily consists of the letters of Mamie Eisenhower to her friends, Dr. J. Holt McCracken and his wife Vivien of California from 1961-1979. Also included are miscellaneous photographs and newspaper articles. -
MS-072: Adin B. Thayer, Co. B, 16th Maine Volunteer Infantry

This collection contains twenty-one Civil War era letters, ranging from 1862-1865, written by Adin Thayer of the 16th Maine. Most of his letters are written to family members prior to his capture and imprisonment in the Confederate prison camp in Salisbury, North Carolina. -
MS-073: Alexander C. Barr, Battery F, 3rd Independent PA Light Artillery

This collection consists of 17 letters written in between March 14, 1864 and June 3, 1865. The majority of the letters are addressed to Alexander Barr's brother Charles in Taylorstown, PA, with the exception of at least one letter composed for his brother Jeff in April, 1864. -
MS-074: Thomas B. McGaffick, Co. F, 101st Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry

The collection contains correspondence along with a number of official documents relating to McGaffick’s discharge from the army. The letters are all addressed to members of Thomas’s family and cover a variety of topics on army life. -

This collection consists of two diaries, 1863 and 1865, belonging to Henry W. Siebert during the Civil War. The entries discuss the morning weather, general activity of the day and the geographic location reached by nightfall. A number of battles are mentioned, including Chancellorsville, Aldie, Upperville, Gettysburg, Petersburg and Appomattox. -

This collection consists of records from George Wynkoop’s service as a Brigadier General in the three month Pennsylvania Volunteers; over 300 pieces of correspondence, reports, orders, and military forms. -

This collection of correspondence contains letters from all fronts and from many of Gladys’ “sweethearts.” Some of the letters are from soldiers and sailors abroad from her hometown of York Springs, Pennsylvania. -

This collection consists of 297 letters written between Russell Miller and Claudia Miller from Washington in 1916-1919 during their courtship and marriage before Russell was deployed to Europe during World War I. -
MS-084: Letters of Gerald Koster, World War II

The collection is compromised mainly of letters written by Gerald Koster home to his family in West Toledo, Ohio. The letters follow Koster through training in Great Lakes, Illinois and into combat as well as giving a fairly complete portrait of life on board ship. -
