    Devin McKinney

    This collection comprises 48 letters from Henry W. Straus to his wife Anna. They were written between June 1918 and March 1919, when Henry, as a U.S. Army medical officer, was serving a British ambulance corps in France.

    This collection contains materials related to Forness' interest in architecture, his research on John Dempwolf (a German architect from York, PA who designed Glatfelter Hall, Brua Hall, and McKinght Hall), teaching materials, and records of his time on the Historical Architecture Review Board for the Borough of Gettysburg.

    Julia D. Marshella

    This collection contains diaries, letters, photographs, recipes, and several documents and artifacts belonging to John F. Kent. Kent was born in Scotland, emigrated to America with his parents as a small child. He enlisted in the New York First Cavalry Regiment in 1861, eventually becoming Full Sargent.

    The collection consists of George Currier’s three manuscript books of lecture notes on anatomy, clinical work, surgery, case studies, obstetrics, diseases and treatment, herbs, tonics, narcotics, etc. Currier also drew detailed illustrations of sailing and steam ships interspersed among the pages as well as sketches of professors, soldiers, flags, etc.

    This is an artificial collection of Medical Department catalogs and announcements obtained over time, as well as lists of faculty and alumni created by Samuel G. Hefelbower during his research for his 1932 history of the College. It also includes an institutional history by Dr. William H. Gobrecht.

    This collection represents an interesting variety of research materials in the area of theatre arts. The majority of the play books are from Owl & Nightingale productions directed by Emile Schmidt, the plays are written by Emile Schmidt, and there's a costume sketch created by Emile Schmidt.

    Devin McKinney

    The bulk of the letters in the collection were written by Clarence and Helen Haldeman between 1943 and 1946, while Clarence was being trained at various bases by the Army Air Corps, and later serving in a bomber squadron in the Pacific Theater of Operations.

The photos and families were located in the greater Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania areas.
