This collection consists primarily of materials produced by F.D. Hurd himself. The collection includes a memoir draft, photographs of his college experiences, diaries from his college and war time, and various artifacts and memorabilia from Hurd’s time in the military. -
MS-154: Eileen Spinelli Papers
Jenna E. Fleming
The collection consists mainly of materials used by Spinelli in the writing and publication processes of her books. Handwritten, typed, and word processed drafts from various stages of the books’ development are included. E-mail and written correspondence between Spinelli, publishers, and editors is also part of the collection. -
MS-155: Lt. Francis M. Tompkins World War One Scrapbooks
Amy E. Lucadamo
Francis M. Tompkins created three scrapbooks with images and materials that he collected during his service in WWI from 1917-1920. Most of the images are official army photographs printed on postcard stock. They are labeled on the image and sometimes dated. -
MS-156: Integration Crisis in Little Rock, Arkansas Collection
Alexandra L. Dunn
This collection consists primarily of anti-integration propaganda circulated by the Little Rock, Arkansas Capital Citizens’ Council to Little Rock families, like the Carlands from 1957 to 1962. The contents include newsletters, booklets, business cards, and the police record of Daisy Bates, the NAACP Arkansas state president. -
MS-157: Donald Brett Collection of Eisenhower Memorabilia

The collection consists of items related to Dwight D. Eisenhower's years as president with numerous artifacts from his 1952 and 1956 presidential campaigns as well as commemorative pieces. It includes campaign buttons, jewelry, and postcards along with other miscellaneous campaign artifacts, as well as World War II photographs. -
MS-158: Gary T. Hawbaker Collection

This collection consists primarily of papers collected by Gary T. Hawbaker from his time as a prospective student up to his graduation from Gettysburg College in 1966. One particular area of strength in this collection is course materials. -
MS-159: Robert Pomponio ’88 Theatre Arts Scrapbook
Chelsea M. Bucklin
Robert Pomponio assembled this scrapbook while a student at Gettysburg College in the 1980’s. The scrapbook primarily focuses on the Owl & Nightingale Players production of “Happy End” by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, directed by Emile O. Schmidt in the spring of 1986. -
MS-161: Ellen Wild Letters

The collection contains 21 letters written by Ellen Sullivan Wild, primarily between 1862 and 1865. Mrs. Wild was the wife of Union officer Edward Wild, who led a brigade of Colored Troops. The letters describe life on the home front and recount some of Edward's experiences in camp and in combat. -
MS-162: Col. William Brisbane Papers

The Col. William Brisbane Papers consist of 133 documents covering a span of thirty-three years, from 1858 to 1891, with the bulk of these springing from Brisbane’s service in the American Civil War from 1861 to 1863. -
MS-163: The Gettysburg Experience, Class of 1963

The collection includes printed materials from college publications, correspondence, textbooks, and artifacts of college life. It presents an overview of the academic program and student life at the college during the early 1960s. -
MS-164: Assorted Documents from the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA)

This is an artificial collection consisting of various documents, letters, and booklets. It also includes textiles (UNRRA and IRO uniform badges) and a printed photo album (of Dachau concentration camp). -

MS-167: Hiram Parker Jr. Letters

There are 52 letters total in the collection spanning from 1862-1874. The bulk of the letters are written by Hiram most of which are to his father, mother Mary Sparks. However, there are a couple to another member of the Sparks family and a few other friends. -

This collection consists of letters, photographs, documents, and artifacts relating to Luther J. “Jake” Thomas’s military service during the Second World War. The majority of the collection features correspondence between Thomas and his family, particularly his mother Anna Thomas, between 1943 and 1945. -
MS-172: Paxton Family Papers

This set of papers presents a variety of notes and correspondences between members of the family and friends. The bulk of the letters date 1895 and come from Elizabeth D. Paxton and Margaretta Paxton to their mother, Caroline Sophia Denny Paxton, while touring Europe. -

This collection consists of information about the USS Callaghan and personal items from Kaoru Hasegawa (kamikaze pilot who was rescued by the US ship) and Leo Jarboe (serviceman on board the USS Callaghan). -

MS-175: Kate Burr Whiting Travel Journal

This collection consists one of one 177 page travel journal, with 136 images included. A letter from 1928 is also included with the journal. The photographs document all the places Kate Burr Whiting traveled around the world.
